Could someone explain the zodiac change thing to me?

Ok i know they are adding a new zodiac sign called Ophiuchus and now the dates are different. But someone said that if you were born after 2009 it doesn't affect you? So does that mean i keep my old sign? I am very confused... thanks.Could someone explain the zodiac change thing to me?
Okay, do not say there is a new horoscope according to ASTROLOGERS because those are not the people claiming it. In fact Astrologers are against it. It was an ASTRONOMER who said this stuff who doesn't know anything about Astrology. Second of all THERE IS NO NEW HOROSCOPE...

There are two types of Astrology. Tropical and Sidereal. The man on the news was ignorant because he was unaware at what type of Astrology Americans were using at the time. We in America use WESTERN (also known as TROPICAL) Astrology, which is not based on constellations at all. It is based on the cycle of the Equinoxes....or in other words based on the Four seasons, our climate in the West. That's why it is called Western Astrology. Do some research. In Tropical Astrology we don't use STAR signs, we use SUN signs. We determine the distance of the sun within the seasons. (We also have moon signs, mercury signs, etc). Sidereal uses STAR signs, which is needs the exact rotation of the earth. I prefer Tropical, because I feel our climate influences our personality more than some stars in the heavens.



The man in the news is ignorant because he was basing his find on EASTERN Astrology which deals with constellations or in other words the stars. That is called SIDEREAL ASTROLOGY and we in America and WESTERN Europe do not USE that type of Astrology. Therefore he is misinformed and misinformed the public as well. There is no new Zodiac. There are just two different types. In fact there are many different types...Chinese, Arabic, Indian, etc. This is why Astrologers are criticizing him because he is a scientist who has no knowledge about Astrology.
Yes, this zodiac sign change is very complicated but I don't think that our signs has changed because if you look at the newspapers zodiac sign part the dates are still the same..I think the astrologists don't consider the new signs so we shouldn't either..If you want to read a bit about this topic here is a link for you:

I think what they were trying to say is that it doesn't matter way sign your yearly birthday ends up on, what matter is what sign you were actually born on... Because according to who ever told you that, the change took place in 2009. Sadly he/she told you wrong because the change took place way before, we just were not aware of it.
There's been some confusion to the new Zodiac signs. There isn't really a new one. We go by the sun and moon positions to figure out our signs, not by constellations, like the list says. There was only ONE Astronomer who thought of the new sign, and he's been led astray. In fact, other Astronomers want us to ignore the change. The Zodiac signs are still the same as they were, there never really was a change.Could someone explain the zodiac change thing to me?
About the new zodiacs:



This is not new. It is Sidereal Astrology. Astronomers use the Sidereal zodiac, and Eastern cultures use it also.



Western astrology uses the Tropical zodiac. Your OLD sign (which really isn't) is your Western sign. These NEW signs (which have been around for several thousand years) are the Sidereal signs. Either is accurate and can be used. It is your choice on how you wish to label yourself.



Astrologers have known about all this for years. It is nothing new.

ok there are 2 types: tropical (what u believe/whats in the magazines) and sidereal. sidereal has 13 signs.... do u believe in sidereal? if u do then your sign has changed. and the 2009 thing is just bs
the earth has been changing it axis some 40 feet a year and it was time to realign them all back up again in their proper places

so now some people have to change theirs

Zodiac signs are determined by the stars...As you know the universe is always moving as well as the earth, so as the zodiac signs are the same, the stars are not...thats why all the zodiac signs are all fd up now
you keep your old date cuz it only applies to people born after 2009
