It was awesome. He also smashed two homers in this game and was a triple short of the cycle.
Unbelievable.
BQ: Do you think the Rays's still have a shot at the playoffs even though they have lost 4 straight.
Or do you see the Red Sox making a resurgance?.
BQ2: Who's doing worse right now: Rays or Yankees?Have you ever been as impressed with a major league debut as well as JP Arencibia?
Jason Heyward. The fact that he plays in Toronto, I wouldn't weigh the two shots that impressive on it's own. Pretty on par with the Heyward debut. Impressive though, nonetheless.
BQ: Yes. The problem is stability in the back of the rotation. That's a problem. The Rays are kind of limping along and need to get solid production from Davis and Shields. Shields needs to stop giving up all these hits. It's crazy. The Red Sox are hanging in there but they won't last. They are too banged up. I don't see them going away for at least another month though.
BQ2: The Yankees. Three of the last 4 losses could have gone either way for the Rays.
Yes both the Gold Dust Twins (Jim Rice and Fred Lynn) and Strasburg even though it was against the AA caliber Pirates.
As for the Rays i would say alot depends upon the Red Sox/Yankee series. if the sox win 2 or 3 of the games in the current series i think the rays might not make it, if the Sox lose the next 2 or 3 then the Rays have a much better shotHave you ever been as impressed with a major league debut as well as JP Arencibia?
I didn't hear about that, but I'm happy for the kid. I love when Rookies do well. It's fun and exciting to watch, and everything is so new to them. It's a great feeling seeing a young kid succeed.
BQ: I still think it will be Yankees and Rays going to the playoffs.
BQ2: The Rays have a four game losing streak, which might seem bad, but you guys are still 1.5 games out of first place. As long as you keep pace with the Yankees the Rays will do fine.
As a jays fan I was always looking forward to JP's debut. As an organization the Jays have had difficulty in developing catchers, just maybe he could be the catcher of the future. One game but who knows. Impressive game for him.
I got to give it to your Rays they never quit. Didn't you guys come back from a 9-1 deficit to beat us 10-9 or something back at the Rogers Centre? Almost was having flashbacks of that game.Have you ever been as impressed with a major league debut as well as JP Arencibia?
I know, right? Can't get much better than that!
BQ: shot at the playoffs? they have the wild card and are 1 GB. they'll definitely make it.
BQ: I say the Yankees. Rays had a tough series against the Twins, but still went 2-2. No worries though, the Blue Jays are just doing well. They beat the Yankees too.
Awesome! I love seeing Rookies come in with a punch.
BQ: Absolutely, the Rays will snap out of this. I think the Rays will rise above their slump and go back to their winning ways soon and will get into the playoffs.
BQ2: I'd really call it a draw between the 2 teams.
Arencibia is the first guy in the modern day era to go 4-5 with 2 home runs. Really impressive.
BQ: Of course they still got a shot at the playoffs. I see Rays getting the Wild Card
BQ2: Rays have been doing worse as of late.
That was impressive but I think Daniel Nava of the Red Sox was more impressive. A grand slam in his 1st at bat. Also Heyward of the Braves since he had all the hype and he went deep on his 1st at bat.
Impressive stuff right there! Ugh James Shields had such a bad game today :(
BQ: For sure!
BQ: ..... I think the Rays are but you'll get back to the groove of things soon!
Yes, Starlin Castro. His first at bat he hit a 3 run homer, then later in the game he hit a 3 run triple.
Jay Bruce went 5 for 5. It was pretty awesome the next day seeing his BA say 1.000
it may not have been more impressive, but it was still awesome.
Yes.
Al Kaline.
I'll admit Starlin Castro impressed the hell out of me earlier this year in his MLB debut. He had just turned 20, and his first At bat he hit a 3 run opposite field homer. He also added a 3 run triple later in the game. He set a Major League record with 6 RBI's (for players making their MLB debut). So for me, it was more impressive, but that's because i'm a cubs fan.
BQ: Yes, the Rays will make the playoffs.
BQ2: The Rays. But it's fine. every team goes through slumps throughout 162 games.
